marooned on mercury followed on from the Red Moon. Having destroyed the rogue moon, Dan and Co. have to crash land on the planet Mercury - as in the frame above.But guess who's waiting for them ....
The crew are rescued by the Mercurians - after some initial misunderstandings - and are brought to a strange city:
Note the signature in the corner: Hampson had fallen ill, and Harold Johns and Greta Tomlinson were to complete the story. The script was taken over by Chad Varah.
The Mercurians agree to help Dan and Co - with some more misunderstadings!
But the story from here on is basically more Mekon thwarting ...
... with the Mekon threatening to wipe out the Earth ...
... until Dan persuades the Mercurians to help him fight the Mekon and all his works:
The story ends with the escape of the Mekon (Naturally! He has to be able to make his re-appearances!), and the rescue of Dan and his crew.
Whilst there is nothing outstanding about the story, it is a good straightforward Dan versus the Mekon yarn.
