"Operation Fireball" was one of the black and white stories published on the inside of Eagle, drawn by Keith Watson, with the script written by David Motton. It ran from Vol 13 No. 33 to No. 42 - 18th August 1962 to 20th October.
I think Keith's best artwork was done in these stories: later, he was asked to do too much, and the strain shows. Here, he has more time, and does some nice vignettes. The opening frame is particularly fine, with plenty of interest and visual detail. The teacher in the story is modelled on Keith's wife Beverley. The script, however, was dreadful - a lot of the dialogue is wooden, the text boxes equally dull, the attempt at humour too laboured. But Keith's artwork makes up for it.
I regret that there has been a good deal of compression in these files, to reduce their size. The complete story amounts to 1.5Mb as it is.
